2005 Vauxhall VX220 turbo with only 6260 miles from new

A Ballyrobert Vauxhall supplied car registered June 2005 with production of these cars finishing July 2005.

Presented in stunning Calypso Red with black and red contrasting leather interior.

Developed alongside the Lotus Elise S2 but with many different parts, the VX220 was a thoroughly sorted sports car.

Longer, wider, more flexible and forgiving than an Elise, it was every bit as much fun. The bonded, extruded-aluminium chassis weighed just 68kg, contributing to a weight of well under a tonne with a 2.0 Turbocharged 2-litre four-cylinder, good for 197bhp and and 184lb ft propelling it down the road.

This example was Ballyrobert’s demonstrator for 10 month before being bought by its 2nd owner who has cherished it for over 17 years.

The body work is in outstanding condition with barely any age related marks to note. The paintwork has a deep lustrous shine and has recently benefited from a paint detail. Both the the front and rear lamps are in excellent condition as to be expected.

Inside the optional extra 2 tone leather interior is gorgeous and really contrasts with the cars exterior. The leather is in excellent condition without any of the usual wear. Equally the black canvas removable roof is as new, fits perfectly and cables are still tight.

The wheels are in superb original condition with matching Bridgestone potenza tyres. Sitting behind are the AP racing brakes giving the car fantastic stopping capabilities.

Mechanically the 2.0 turbo engine runs sweet and the turbo boosts perfectly. The 5 speed manual box is tight and the car drives exceptionally well. They really are one of the most planted cars you will ever drive.

Most recently it has benefited from a new timing belt kit and a service due to age so it is thoroughly sorted.

A fantastic investment car with 220 Turbos being a now vary rare sight especially with this low milage.
